Scholarship Program Eligibility
Enrolled Tribal Member
Student must be an enrolled member of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation with a Tribal ID number to be eligible for Scholarship funding.
Submit Required Materials
Student must submit all required documents for the program in which they are applying.
Comply with Scholarship Guidelines
Student must be in compliance with all Scholarship Guidelines.
Comply with Academic Success Plans
Student must comply with any Academic Success Plans put in place by the Education Department.
Complete Application
Student must complete a Scholarship application through the Scholarship Portal. Payments cannot be processed until this step is complete.
Submit Progress and Final Report Cards or Transcripts
Student must submit all progress reports through the year as well as an end-of-year report card (K-PG) or end-of-term transcript (Higher Ed) or school-specific reporting documentation.
Comply with Repayment Plan
Student must not have more than one Repayment Plan and must be up-to-date on making payments towards said plan.

Preparing Your Documents
Double-check your documents for all necessary elements. Incomplete submissions will be rejected and could slow down the payment and approval processes.
Early Childhood
- School/Daycare License: Includes school name, license number, state and license expiration date
- Student Enrollment Agreement: Includes school name, student name, number of days per week child is attending, rate per day or week, and start date
- School Closure Calendar: Includes school name and school year
- Itemized Invoice (Direct Pay) OR Proof of Payment (Reimbursement): Includes student name, dates/weeks attended, balance/payment amount
- NVIF (For new parents being reimbursed or for new schools)
- W9 (For new schools)
K-12 Education
- Most Recent Report Card: Includes school name, student name, school year, grade
- Signed Enrollment Agreement: Includes school name, student name, school year, grade, parent/guardian signature
- School Calendar: Includes school name, school year
- Itemized Invoice: Includes school name, student name, school year, grade, balance due
- NVIF & W9 (For new schools)
Higher Education
- HS Diploma/Final Transcript/GED: Required for students who have not submitted these to the Department previously
- Acceptance Letter: Includes student name, school name, degree being pursued, enrollment term
- Program of Study: Includes degree being pursued, credits/courses needed
- Most Recent Transcript/Grades: Either HS for new college students or college transcript up through previous semester
- FAFSA Summary for Current SY: Includes page stating if student was granted any federal grants or scholarships, student info
- Class Schedule: Includes student name, school name, current term, class start date and end dates, credits for each class
- Itemized Invoice: Includes student name, school name, current term, balance
- NVIF & W9 (For new schools)
Certifications
- Program Description/Contract: Includes school name, student name, hours of program, start date, end date
- Proof of Enrollment (Acceptance Letter/Email or Contract): Includes student name, school name, program
- Itemized Invoice: Includes school name, student name, recent date, program name, balance
- NVIF & W9 (For new schools)

Who Is Eligible For Scholarship?
Only enrolled Tribal Members with Tribal Identification numbers disseminated by the MPTN Tribal Clerk’s Office are eligible for Scholarship Programs. However, the MPTN Education Department offers some programs for students without this credential, so please contact the Department with any questions you may have.
What Is the Scholarship Application Process?
In a nutshell, students interested in applying for the MPTN Education Scholarship must obtain admission into a school or academic program then complete the online application process with the Education Department. For assistance, please reach out to [email protected].
