Jill DeRosa joined the department in July of 2023 as the Assistant Director of Education. Originally from North Stonington, Jill attended Wheeler High School and then went on to study secondary math education at the University of Connecticut. Jill was a member of the UConn Dance Team where she cheered on multiple championship football and basketball teams and went on to graduate with a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction. Jill has spent the last 10 years teaching at the Marine Science Magnet High School in Groton where she taught a variety of courses including AP Statistics and a financial literacy course. Jill obtained her 092 Intermediate Supervision Certification in 2019 and became the department head for both math and Spanish. She has extensive experience in curriculum writing, coaching, professional development, and working with students of all ages. Outside of the classroom, Jill enjoys traveling and spending time with her family. She lives with her daughter, Brooklynn, her husband, Steve, and her two dogs, Gigi and Jake in Mystic. She is excited to serve the Mashantucket Pequot community and looks forward to meeting and working with everyone.

- Assists families in exploring school choice options for grades K-12
- Manages the Homework Help, Tutoring Program and other student academic supports
- Coordinates events and trips such as Close Up and the School Choice Fair
- Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with local schools and businesses
- Oversees Behavior Intervention, Special Education and College Counseling
